For some years, I have benefited from the experience of others, either through direct contact with people in my work, through postings on email lists, discussion boards and blogs, or quite often, by using code that others have generously open sourced. Now, I find myself increasingly creating software I am confident about distributing, as well as lending a helping hand to others in online forums. This blog is another step in that progression; I hope I can help others the way I have been helped while continuing my own personal and professional growth.
Throughout my career, I have worked in the following capacities:
- supervisor,
- project manager,
- software developer,
- copy writer, editor and graphic designer,
- librarian (shh!),
- small business owner,
- technical writer, and
- software instructor.
… and although its difficult to predict in exactly what direction this blog may ultimately go, most posts will probably be based on this broad cluster of intersecting experiences.
Feel free to suggest topics for me to cover, including software reviews. Or just ask questions–I will probably be asking a few myself. I am also open to link exchanges and different forms of advertising to help line my pockets.
